Lintang Zoo is a minor residential road located in the Ayer Itam area of Penang. It branches off from Jalan Zoo, near the junction with Jalan Pisang Embun, and runs a short distance before ending in a cul-de-sac. Despite its modest size, Lintang Zoo serves as a point of access to one of the area’s lesser-known Chinese temples, the Tean Ling Tong Temple (天灵堂), which is located beside the road.
The surroundings of Lintang Zoo are mainly residential, with a mix of terrace houses and small shops typical of Ayer Itam’s older neighbourhoods. The road is not a major thoroughfare, but rather a quiet street that caters mainly to local residents and temple visitors. While it may not be a place tourists seek out on its own, Lintang Zoo may be of interest to those exploring the deeper corners of Ayer Itam, especially those curious about local religious landmarks and hidden gems in Penang’s urban fabric.
The nearby Tean Ling Tong Temple is a traditional Chinese temple that adds cultural significance to the area. Visitors may stop by the temple to observe traditional Chinese architecture, incense rituals, and festive decorations during religious celebrations.
Lintang Zoo is located off Jalan Zoo in Ayer Itam. The easiest way to reach it is by heading towards the Ayer Itam roundabout, then taking Jalan Zoo uphill. Lintang Zoo is one of the smaller lanes branching off from it. The nearest bus stop is on Zoo Road. It is served by Rapid Penang bus 204.
