Bunkyo (文京区) is a special ward of Tokyo Metropolis located on the northern part of downtown Tokyo. It is one of the eight central wards of downtown Tokyo which includes
Chiyoda,
Minato,
Shibuya,
Chuo, Shinjuku,
Taito and Toshima. Bunkyo covers 11.31 sq km and has a population of about 190,000 (2011 estimate).
Bunkyo is bordered by
Kita to the north, Taito to the east, Chiyoda to the south,
Shinjuku to the southwest and
Toshima to the west.
