Oga (Japanese: 男鹿市) is a city encompassing the Oga Peninsula, in Akita Prefecture, Japan. It covers 240 sq km (92.97 sq mi) and has a population of 32,000 people. The city faces the Sea of Japan to the west.
The city of Oga was founded in 1954. It merged with the town of Wakami in 2005. The city is famous for staging the annual Namahage Festival, when men dressed as ogres with hideous masks and straw overcoats.
