Hanamikoji (GPS: 35.00362, 135.77503) is the most classy street in the Gion district of Kyoto, Japan. This is the watering hole of the upper crust of Kyoto society, a place where politicians, wealthy business owners and CEO's rub shoulders.

The ochaya (tea houses) and restaurants in Hanamikoji do not cater to the casual visitor. You might even be given the cold shoulder if you venture into some where a proper introduction from an insider is the requirement.
