Neka Art Museum is said to have the best private collection of Balinese art in Bali. This museum was established by local art collector and former teacher Suteja Neka in 1976. It is located along Jalan Raya Campuhan between
Ubud and
Kedewatan, near
Sanggingan.
The museum is spread over seven buildings, with the collections arranged in chronological order. The arrangement allows visitors to appreciate the development of Balinese art within the Indonesian context. The museum has an outstanding collection of wayang-style paintings, a number of pieces by famous Balinese artist I Gusti Nyoman Lempad, and exquisite line drawings.
