The Sarnath Archaeological Museum is a well-planned museum that houses some of the greatest treasures of Indian Buddhist art in Sarnath, India. Among the displays is a number of unearthed statues, some in surprisingly good condition, as well as several other findings from the site. At the museum's entrance is the famous Lion Capital from Ashoka's pillar, which was adopted as the national emblem of India, an indication of the Indian Government's renewed interest in Buddhism. The wheel design on its base was also the central figure of India's flag.
