Kangra is a small town in western Himachal Pradesh, in northern India. The town of some 10,000 people (2012 estimate) has been called by various names through its history, including Nagarkot, Trigarta and Bhimagar. Its history goes back to at least the 11th century.
Today Kangra is renowned for its many ancient temples.
