Durg, Chhattisgarh

Durg is a city and headquarters of the district of Durg in the state of Chhattisgarh, India. It is located 290 m (950 ft) above sea level. The district of Durg is the most populous in Chhattisgarh.

The history of Durg goes back to ancient times. It was mentioned in the epic of Ramayana. The Chinese traveller Huien Tsang also mentioned it in the 4th century AD.
