Bhilai (Hindi: भिलाई) is a city in the district of Durg, in Chhattisgarh, India. Located 452 m (1,483 ft) above sea level, it has a population of 626,000 people (2012 estimate). The people here speak Hindi and Chhattisgarhi.
Bhilai is home to the largest steel plant in India, the Bhilai Steel Plant which was founded in 1955, and is the manufacturer of railway tracks for the country.
