Procuratie Nuove is one of the three arcaded buildings surrounding St Mark's Square in Venice. It is the one on the southern side of the square.
Procuratie Nuove was built in 1586 by Vincenzo Scamozzi in a strict Classical style. It was completed in 1640 by Longhena. Its purpose was to create office space for the merchants of the city.
The interior the Procuratie Nuove was done in the Neoclassical style which is incongrous to Venetian architecture. It held the offices of the governor of Napoleon Bonaparte, after the fall of the Republic. After that, it was occupied by the Austrian governor, the kings of Italy, and now the President of the Italian Republic whenever he is in Venice.
