Beijing Zoo & Aquarium is a huge zoological park located in Xicheng District, Beijing. The zoo covers a huge area of 89 hectares (220 acres). It is one of the oldest zoos in China, and has one of the largest collections of animals in the country. In fact, it was founded in 1906, and has wide landscaped areas that make it look like a classical Chinese garden.

One of the attractions of Beijing Zoo is its gigantic aquarium. One can view scenes of the coral reefs as well as the rainforest. The marine life kept here include whales, dolphines and sharks.

How to reach the Beijing Zoo

Beijing Zoo is located at 137 Xizhi Men Wai Dajie, in Haidian, Beijing. Take the subway to the Xizhi Men station, then take a taxi from there. The zoo is open daily from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm.

About this website

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
