Kuala Balai is a small town in the Belait district of Brunei Darussalam. The attraction here is the longhouse that the locals have maintained for the benefit of tourists. Here, you can visit the tribal skull house and get to try out traditional activities such as processing sago and roof thatching.

Getting there
Hire a boat at Kuala Belait town to go upriver to Kuala Balai. Alternatively, get a tour operator in Bandar Seri Begawan to arrange a package for you. Expect to pay about B$120 per person for the trip.
