Ah Chu Fish Head Curry 亞鼠咖哩魚頭 (3 July 2017)


Ah Chu Fish Head Curry (Chinese: 亞鼠咖哩魚頭; Penang Hokkien: Ah3 Chu4 Ka3li1 Hu3 Thau2 ) is a curry fish head stall at Bayan Baru Hawker Centre. It is one of my favourite fish head curry stalls. The stall operated for many years at Sunshine Square Food Court but recently relocated to the Bayan Baru Hawker Centre nearby. That was where we enjoyed it last night. The lady selling the fish head curry could still recognise me, and was pleased to see me, even though I haven't visited her stall for quite some time.

The price has risen over the years. Right now, the curry fish head for two persons cost RM26. But I enjoyed it very much. In addition, I ordered the ice kacang from the nearby stall and it was also very well done.

We decided to go to Ah Chu Curry Fish Head at Bayan Baru Hawker Centre, as I have not been there in a while, and have started to crave for it. I was not disappointed. Maybe because the seller already knows me, and knows how much I enjoy her curry fish head, I am often given a very good, meaty head. This time, we also requested more ladies fingers, as my wife loves that.

It was a heavy but enjoyable meal.

We discovered that Ah Chu Curry Fish Head has moved from its old location inside Sunshine Square Food Court to the Bayan Baru Hawker Centre, a short distance away. I gladly move over there to enjoy it.
