Sungai Nibong Tan Kongsi

Sungai Nibong Tan Kongsi is one of the three brotherhood associations of the Tan clansmen in Penang. It is believed to have been erected some time in the early part of the 20th century. At the time it was built, the Sungai Nibong Tan Kongsi fronts a much smaller main road. Today, the Bayan Lepas Elevated Highway runs directly overhead in front of it, blocking much of the view of the clan temple.

The Sungai Nibong Tan Kongsi is decorated in the southern Chinese style. The roof is embellished with rearing dragons and ornamentations of figurines and flowers in chien nien, or broken pottery. The frontage has a pair of columns and three doorways. The doors are painted with door guardian warriors.
