Kuil Shree Muniswarar
Shree Muniswarar Temple is a famous Hindu shrine at the junction of Jalan Utama, Jalan Kebun Bunga and Jalan Gottlieb in Penang. It was founded in 1853, and is one of the many Hindu shrines and temples all along the former Waterfall Road (now Jalan Kebun Bunga). It was established by the Indians who were mostly coolies who worked as water porters and sedan chair carriers.
Today, Shree Muniswarar Temple is most famous for blessing newly purchased cars. It attracts a constant stream of car owners, including many Chinese and non Hindus, to have their cars blessed by the temple priest.
