Harbour Trade Centre (GPS: 5.40554, 100.33596) is a commercial complex in the Macallum Street Ghaut area of George Town, Penang. It is bordered by Macallum Street Ghaut and Lintang Macallum 3. The complex has lots for shops as well as offices. On the ground floor there is also a few coffee shops.
Harbour Trade Centre is part of the development of Macallum Street Ghaut, which created a new shoreline neighbourhood for the growing population of George Town. The area was developed in the early 1980s. Before that, it was a swampy land with piers over the mudflats.
The opening of the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway has improved the public infrastructure to the area. The amenities at Macallum Street Ghaut now include a wet market, a school, a community library, a few Chinese temples and the wholesale market, which is located across from Harbour Trade Centre at Kompleks Pulau Mutiara.
