Kuala Selangor Fireflies is a local tourist attraction in Selangor. The two places where you can view the fireflies are Kampung Kuantan (GPS: 3.36212, 101.30158) and Kampung Bukit Belimbing (GPS: 3.38638, 101.27857), both riverine villages beside Sungai Selangor in the Kuala Selangor district.

Nocturnal boat rides, usually conducted at dusk, take visitors into the meandering river to view the fireflies, or kelip-kelip in Malay.

You can book your boat ride directly at the entrance of the Kampung Kuantan Fireflies Park. The best time to reach the park is by around 6:30 pm, to be ready for the ride by 7:30 pm.

The best times to go are dry moonless nights. Wet weather tend to reduce the number of fireflies. Having said that, the firefly density of Kuala Selangor has dwindled, due in part of overall development as well as to chemical contamination of the mangrove.
