Bandar Sri Damansara is a well-established residential neighbourhood located in the northern part of Petaling Jaya, Selangor. Developed in the 1990s, it is known for its peaceful, green environment, balanced mix of residential and commercial areas, and excellent access to major expressways. The township has matured into a thriving suburban enclave that offers convenience and comfort while remaining close to Kuala Lumpur. 1
Bandar Sri Damansara was developed in the early 1990s by Land & General Berhad as part of a larger plan to expand Petaling Jaya’s residential footprint northward toward Kepong. The site, which was once covered by secondary forest and oil palm estates, was transformed into a planned township with a mix of landed housing, commercial centers, and green spaces. 2
Its design emphasised self-sufficiency, featuring amenities such as schools, shops, parks, and places of worship. The community’s strategic location between Kuala Lumpur and Sungai Buloh also contributed to its rapid growth. 3
Bandar Sri Damansara is a balanced suburban environment offering a blend of quiet residential living and convenient urban amenities. The neighbourhood is characterised by tree-lined streets, parks, and a variety of housing types, including terrace houses, semi-detached homes, condominiums, and gated communities. 4
The township is organised into several sections, each with its own local amenities and community areas. Residents enjoy access to numerous eateries, retail outlets, and recreational spaces. The Damansara Foresta Condominium, for instance, highlights the neighbourhood’s integration of nature and modern living. 5
The property market in Bandar Sri Damansara is relatively stable, supported by strong owner occupancy and steady demand from families and working professionals. The median price for landed homes ranges between RM 850,000 and RM 1.2 million, while condominiums and serviced apartments typically range from RM 400,000 – RM 600,000 depending on age and location. 6
The area’s proximity to major highways and industrial zones such as the Sri Damansara Industrial Park makes it attractive for small businesses and logistics-related activities. 7
Bandar Sri Damansara enjoys excellent connectivity. It is served by several major expressways, including the Damansara–Puchong Expressway (LDP, E11), Duta–Ulu Klang Expressway (DUKE, E33), and North–Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE, E35), all of which provide direct routes to Kuala Lumpur, Shah Alam, and Subang. 8
Public transportation options have improved significantly with the opening of the Sri Damansara Timur MRT station and its connection to the Kepong Sentral KTM station, offering residents convenient access to the Klang Valley MRT network. 9
Bandar Sri Damansara was awarded the Best Managed Township Award by the Selangor State Government in the late 1990s for its organised development and strong community engagement. 10
