Sipitang (GPS: 5.07918, 115.55082) is the name of a small town as well as district on the southwestern part of
Sabah, within the
Interior Divison. The district of Sipitang straddles the border with Sarawak. This is where the remote village of
Long Pasia is located.
The town of Sipitang is about 44 km south of
Beaufort, on a wide, shallow bay. Most people pass by Sipitang on their way to Sarawak or Brunei.
Getting there
You can take a minivan from Beaufort to Sipitang. It costs RM4.00 for the 1 1/2 hour journey.
