Bongawan (GPS: 5.48916, 115.81) is a town in the West Coast Division of
Sabah. It is located some 60 kilometers to the south of
Kota Kinabalu, and is one of the stops of the
North Borneo Railway. It is in fact at the boundary to the Interior Division, and is probably nearer to towns in the Interior Division such as Beaufort or Membakut, than it is to Kota Kinabalu. Bongawan is on the river of the same name.
