SMJK Nan Hwa (GPS: 4.20333, 100.69917) is a national-type secondary school in Sitiawan, Perak. It is located on Jalan Lin Chen Mei. The school traces its roots back to 24 November, 19351, when Uj Dih Primary School merged with Chinese national Chung Cheng and Min Tee, to form the Nan Hwa High School.

The first school year began on 11 January, 1936, with an initial intake of 100 students. Classes where held at the home of Father Lee Kor Ting in Kampung Koh. A donation drive enabled the school to purchase a piece of land two blocks were built and completed in 1939. By then, the enrolment has increased to 300 students. The Second World War forced the school to close from 1942 until 1945. It reopened on 28 January, 1946, with the ending of the war.

With the implementation of the Education Act 1961, Nan Hwa High School became a government aided school. The following year, it was divided into two, namely SMJK Nan Hwa and Sekolah Tinggi Nan Hwa.

About this website

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
