Halaman Goes Green, IpohHalaman Goes Green, Ipoh (19 October, 2018)




Halaman Goes Green (GPS: 4.59987, 101.079) is a public park beside Sungai Kinta in Ipoh, Perak. It was created by the Department of Irrigation and Drainage (Jabatan Pengairan dan Saluran) for Kinta and Batang Padang district of Ipoh, to clean up and beautify the Kinta River. The effort received the IQNet and SIRIM QAS International certification for fulfilling the requirements of the standard ISO 14001:2004 on 11 February, 2016.

The beautification project sees the construction of a riverside park with walkway and landscaping. At the same time, the quality and cleanliness of the water on the Kinta River was also progressively improved. The beautification project was carried out in stages. In 2012, it was carried out on a 1-km stretch from Jambatan Lim Bo Seng to Jambatan Sultan Idris Shah. By 2013, the beautification is extended from Jambatan Lim Boo Seng to Jambatan Musa Aziz, and in 2014, it extended to Tanjung Rambutan.
