M101 Skywheel, Kuala Lumpur



M101 Skywheel (GPS: 3.16781, 101.71115) is a 78-storey skyscraper being planned for Kuala Lumpur. It will be sited at Lorong Raja Uda 2 off Jalan Raja Muda Abdul Aziz in Kampung Baru. The most unusual feature of M101 Skywheel is that it will have a gigantic clock face encircled by a ferris wheel on the 53rd floor, flanked by two souring towers that reach to the 78th floor. The Ferris wheel is being designed by the same people that designed the London Eye and the Singapore Flyer. It will be have a 60-meter circumference.

According to The Star1, the project has an estimated gross development value of RM2.2billion. The main contractor for the project is China Railway Construction Corporation Malaysia Berhad (CRCC).

The skyscraper is designed by Studio F.A. Porsche. It will have a shopping mall on the 50th, 51st and 52nd floors of the building, making it among the highest shopping malls in the world. The building will also house the first Planet Hollywood Hotel in Asia.
