Jalan Syed Putra is a major road in Kuala Lumpur. It leads south from inner city towards the south. Jalan Syed Putra connects Jalan Kinabalu in the north to the Old Klang Road in the south, at the interchange with the Federal Highway.
Jalan Syed Putra was originally known as Lornie Road. It was named after the British Resident of Selangor who served from 1926 to 1931, James Lornie (1876-1959)1 It was renamed in honour of the third Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia, the late Almarhum Tuanku Syed Putra ibni Almarhum Syed Hassan Jamalullail of Perlis.
