Hospital Tung Shin (7 July, 2016)
Hospital Tung Shin (GPS: 3.14564, 101.70367) is a private hospital in downtown Kuala Lumpur. Located along Jalan Pudu, it offers various treatments including anesthesiology, cardiology, dental, orthodontics, ear, nose and throat treatment. The hospital also has a department for Chinese medicine.
One of the oldest medical institutions in Kuala Lumpur, Hospital Tung Shin dates back to 1881, when it was founded by Kapitan Cina Yap Kwan Seng to provide treatment to the largely coolie population. In the beginning, the hospital was located at Jalan Sultan. It moved to its present location in 1894, when it became a non-profit organisation.
Hospital Tung Shin has expanded over the years. Today the hospital complex includes not only the clinics and wards but also various specialist departments and even a recreational club for its staff.
