Evangelical Lutheran Zion Church, Kuala Lumpur (8 July, 2016)
Evangelical Lutheran Zion Church (GPS: 3.1288, 101.68665), also called the Zion Lutheran Cathedral, is an Evangelical Lutheran church in Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur. While the Lutheran movement in Malaysia is concentrated in Penang and Kuala Lumpur, the activities in Kuala Lumpur followed the development of the Indian settlement within the Brickfields area. In Penang, you can find the Lutheran movement at Victory Lutheran Church in Island Glades.
Today the Evangelical Lutheran Church has developed into twenty separate congregations. Within Kuala Lumpur, the Zion Lutheran Congregation is the main group. It comprises the Tamil-speaking Zion Cathedral congregation ande the English-speaking Zion Redeemer Lutheran congregation, both worshipping at the church complex at 21 Jalan Sultan Abdul Samad in Brickfields.
