Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Kuala Lumpur

Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (GPS: 3.12997, 101.7245), also called Sacred Heart Church, is a Roman Catholic church in Kuala Lumpur. It is located off Jalan Peel. The church building is not clearly visible from Jalan Peel, apart from its gate, as the view is blocked by a row of roadside stalls.

The Sacred Heart Church traces its history to the founding of the Diocese of Kuala Lumpur in 1955. Father Edward Limat, who was the parish prist of St John's Cathedral, was instrumental in founding Sacred Heart. This is to serve the Catholics who have settled at the Kampung Pandan area. With a building fund set up, a piece of land was purchased, and the Sacred Heart Church was completed in 1960. Bishop D. Vendargon blessed it in March, 1960.
