My wife and I had the wonderful experience of staying at
Bon Ton Resort in Langkawi on 7-9 September, 2018. This beautiful boutique resort is located somewhere between
Pantai Cenang and
Padang Matsirat.
Bon Ton Resort is composed of kampong houses on stilts that have been dismantled from their original locations, restored, and then reassembled on site as guest villas. These villas preserve their original exterior appearance, but the inside has been comfortable with modern amenities such as air conditioning, shower, bathtub and television. But despite the modern amenities, there are signs that nature is closeby and often has to be kept at bay. This is particularly so with the presence of mosquito netting and repellents. Having said that, I have to say that the mosquito netting offers the villas a grand elegance.
