Kota Setar District is a district on the northern part of Kedah. The district, which has a total area opf 665 sq km, surrounds the city of Alor Setar, the state capital.
Kota Setar District shares a border with Kubang Pasu District to the north, Padang Terap District to the east, and Pendang District to the south.
