Sekolah Kebangsaan Canossian Convent, Segamat

Canossian Convent School, or Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Canossian Convent, is a school in Segamat, Johor. The school dates back to 1956, when it was established on Jalan Buloh Kasap, Segamat, with just 70 pupils. The first principal of the school was Mother Theresa Chuah.

Until 1987, the school was held with a morning and an afternoon session. Only after the completion of a new building was there sufficient space for the school to be conducted in one session, and this began in April 1987. All the early headmistresses of the schools were Catholic nuns or sister. The first non-Catholic nun to hold the position of headmistress was Puan Zawiyah binti Harun, who became the principal of Canossian Convent upon the demise of Sister Agnes Liew on 4 October, 1994.

About this website

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
