Puteri Harbour (GPS: 1.41837, 103.65603) is a neighbourhood of the Iskandar Puteri township, in Johor Bahru District, Johor. The area is being developed into a residential, hospitality, and food & beverage precinct for Iskandar Puteri. Its location by the seaside makes it the ideal place to site an international ferry terminal.

How to go to Puteri Harbour

If you are coming from the north (Kuala Lumpur, Penang, etc.), take the North South Expressway Southern Route (E2) to Exit 253 (Senai North Interchange), and continue on the Second Link Expressway (E3) until the Kota Iskandar Interchange (Exit 311). Head east on Lebuh Kota Iskandar until the Puteri Harbour roundabout. Continue on Persiaran Laksamana to reach Puteri Harbour.

Where to stay at Puteri Harbour

During my visit to Puteri Harbour, I was hosted by Fraser Place Puteri Harbour, a 25-storey serviced residence that offers 296 units of contemporary accommodation particularly suited to business travellers. Fraser Place Puteri Harbour is a new hybrid hotel-cum-residences with rooms that come fully equipped with kitchenette, washing machine cum dryer, electric stove and all modern amenities and appliances. Creature comforts include complimentary high-speed wifi access, all-day dining, club lounge, banquet hall, meeting rooms and scheduled shuttle service to designated places.

What to see at Puteri Harbour

Tourist sights are rather limited in this newly developed neighbourhood. Of some interest are the state administrative complex at Kota Iskandar.

Exploring further afield

If you are staying in Puteri Harbour, there are many places that you can explore on a one-day excursion. They include Gunung Pulai Recreational Forest, Taman Negara Tanjung Piai, the fishing village of Kukup, and small towns in Johor such as Batu Pahat, Muar, Kluang and Tangkak. You would need a car (or to rent one) to reach these places.
