Istana Bukit Serene (GPS: 1.47981, 103.72624) is the official residence of the Sultan of Johor in Johor Bahru. It was built in 1932 in the Art Deco style. It can be seen from the waterfront, although not open to the general public. The main tower is 32 meters tall. Istana Bukit Serene is guarded by the personal military of the Sultan of Johor, called the Johor Military Forces.
