Farnborough is a town in Rushmoor district, Hampshire, England. The town in on the northeast part of Hampshire, where the River Blackwater forms the boundary with Surrey. The town is contiguous with Aldershot to the south, and also includes within its limits the villages of Cove and Southwood. Farnborough has a population of 57,000 people (2012 estimate).

Human habitation in Farnborough goes back to the prehistoric age, based on the presence of Sarsen stones found in the area. The town is the location of St Michael's Abbey, the final resting place for Napoleon III (1808-1873), his wife Eugénie de Montijo (1826-1920) and their son Louis Napoléon (1856-1879).

Farnborough is today a modern town with a couple of business parks and shopping centers. It is closely associated with the field of aviation. It is the site of the Farnborough Airshow, a seven-day international trade fair for the aerospace industry, held in mid July once every two years - on even-numbered years.

Visiting Farnborough

Farnborough can easily be reached from London by taking the M3 motorway to Junction 4, then continuing on the A331 and then the A325 roads.
