Alnmouth is a small hamlet in Northumberland, England. Located at the mouth of the River Aln, it has a population of just around 560 people (2012 estimate). In the old days, it was a trading port for grains, though a substantial amount of smuggled goods also passed through it. A violent storm in 1806 changed the course of the River Aln, rendering Alnmouth's position as a trading port obsolete.

Alnmouth was named Adtwifyrdi by the local monk, the Venerable Bede, in the 7th century. The most notable building in the village was its church, which stood on Church Hill. The storm of 1806 eroded the River Aln so much that it caused part of Church Hill to give way, destroyingt the original church.
Today Alnmouth is a popular seaside resort on the Northumberland coast.
