Overijssel is a province of the Netherlands on the central eastern part of the country. It covers 3,327 square kilomters of land and 94 square kilometers of water. Overijssel is bordered by Friesland and Drenthe to the north, Flevoland to the west, Gelderland to the west and south, and Germany to the east.

Overijssel has a population of 1.1 million people. Its capital is Zwolle while its largest city is Enschede. There are 25 municipalities in this province.
