North Holland is one of the provinces of the Netherlands. Itcovers 2,670 square kilometers of land and 1,421 square kilometers of sea. It has a population of 2.6 million people, making it the second most populous province in the country. The capital of North Holland is Haarlem while the largest city is Amsterdam.

There are 53 municipalities in North Holland, most of which are separate towns. The islands of Bonaire, Saba and Sint Eustatius were also offered to become provinces of North Holland, but as of 2013, nothing has materialized on that matter.
