Renmin Park 人民公园 is the best kept park in Chengdu. The name Renmin Park means People's Park. The park has year-round flower displays. Visitors can enjoy the sight of ponds, terraces, lakes, with drooping wisteria blooms.
There is a hall at Renmin Park where shadow-puppet shows are hosted on the weekends. Within the park is the Martyrs' Monument. The monument commemorates the 1911 rail dispute that turned into massive opposition to the Qing government and led to the eventual overthrow of the imperial government.
How to reach Renmin Park
Renmin Park is located at 12 Xiao Cheng Lu. Take Bus No. 4 from the city centre. Renmin Park is open from 6:30 am to 2:00 am the following day. Entrance fee is ¥2.00.
