Vasco da Gama Monument (10 November, 2007)
Vasco Da Gama Monument is a memorial in Macau. It is located at Vasco da Gama Garden, a small park along Rua F. Do Amaral, near the Historic Archives. The monument commemorates the Portuguese explorer who discovered the sea route from Europe to India.
There was no record of Vasco da Gama ever reaching Macau. Nevertheless his exploration to the East helped Portugal in its quest to become an early colonial power.
Getting to Vasco Da Gama Monument
Take bus 28 which passes through Rua de Perreira beside Vasco da Gama Garden.
