Guizhou Province 贵州省 is a province in southwestern China. A landlocked province, Guizhou borders the municipality of
Chongqing to the north,
Hunan Province to the east,
Guangxi Autonomous Region to the south,
Yunnan Province to the west and
Sichuan Province to the northwest. It covers 176,100 sq km (68,000 sq mi) and is the 16th largest province of China.
Guizhou Province has a population of 38 million people (2011 estimate). Its capital and biggest city is Guiyang. The province had a GDP of CNY 389.4 billion in 2009, putting it in 26th position, and a per capita GDP of CNY 10,258, in 31st position. Guizhou comprises four prefecture-level cities, two prefectures and three autonomous prefectures. It is one of the poorest and economically undeveloped province of the country.
