Winslow is a small town in Navajo County, Arizona. Covering 12.3 sq mi (31.9 sq km), Winslow has a population of around 10,000 (2011 estimate). It is not related to Winslow, England.
Winslow is best known from the exposure it received from the Eagles song "Take It Easy", where the town was mentioned in the lyrics. The song provided Winslow a much needed boost in attention. There is even a public park, the
Standin' on the Corner Park that commemorates that line in
Take It Easy. The park has a two-story trompe-l'œil mural behind the statue of a man standing in the corner with a guitar. The site was however partly damaged by a fire in 2005, and was since fenced up. I learn that bricks are being sold to donors to fund the repairs, but am not sure whether the repairs have been completed.
