White Mountains is the name of a mountain range on the eastern part of Arizona. it is a continuation of the Arizona transition zone-Mogollon Rim the stretches into western New Mexico.
The highest peak in the White Mountains is Mount Baldy, which stands at 11,400 ft (3,475 m). Rivers running south flow into the Salt River while the Little Colorado River runs north from it.

Part of White Mountains is within the Navajo Nation. Any form of recreation within reservation land requires a permit, available from sporting goods stores located within the White Mountains.
Visiting White Mountains, Arizona
From Phoenix, take Highway 87 (also called Beeline Highway) to Payson, when continue along State Route 260. The first community on White Mountain is Show Low. You can also take US Highway 60 to reach Show Low.
