Sara Delano Roosevelt Park

Sara Delano Roosevelt Park is a public park in Manhattan, New York City. The 7.8-acre (32,000 meters square) park was named after Sara Roosevelt, the mother of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt.

Sara Delano Roosevelt Park is long and narrow. It covers an area between East Houston Street on the Lower East Side and Canal Street in Chinatown. Delancey St and Grand St cut across the park. Hester St also crosses the park, though in the form of a pedestrian mall.

Among the facilities at Sara Delano Roosevelt Park include a basketball court, a roller skating rink and a soccer field. Also located within the park is the M'Finda Kalunga Garden. This garden was created to commemorate an African-American burial ground that used to be located in the vicinity, between Rivington and Stanton Streets.

Getting there

The nearest subway station is the Grand St station, served by the B and D trains.

About this website

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
