6 Train Service, New York City Subway

The 6 Train is a subway train service of the New York City Subway. The 6 Lexington Avenue and Pelham Local is the 6 train with a circle signage while the Lexington Avenue and Pelham Express has a diamond signage. It uses the IRT Lexington Avenue Line in Manhattan.

The 6 local train service operates at all times while the 6 express train service operates during middays and rush hours in the peak direction. The 6 local operates between the Pelham Bay Park Subway Station in the Bronx and the Brooklyn Bridge - City Hall Subway Station in Civic Center, Manhattan. During rush hour, however, the 6 local operates to and from Parkchester Subway Station in the Bronx.

The 6 express takes the place of the 6 local north of Parkchester Subway Station. It operates as an express between that station and the Third Avenue - 138th Street Subway Station.
