Concepción is a city in the very center of Paraguay, although administratively it is regarded as being part of northern Paraguay. Located on the Paraguay River, it is the provincial capital of Concepción department. The city covers 8,490 sq km (3.278 sq mi) and has a population of 76,000 people (2011 estimate).
Concepción experiences a humid subtropical climate. Temperatures are fairly constant, peaking between December and February, with an average high of 33°C (91°F). July is the coldest month, with average low temperature of 13°C (55°F). December is the wettest month, receiving 164 mm (6.46 in) of precipitation.
Visiting Concepción
There are buses to Concepción from Asunción. It is a long journey that takes 22 hours.
