Sacred Mijikenda Kaya Forests is a collection of eleven disparate forestlands in Kenya. The forests are spread over some 200 km of the coast. Located within them are kaya, or fortified villages, of the Mijikenda people.
Sacred Mijikenda Kaya Forests was inscribed as a World Heritage Site during the 32nd session of the World Heritage Committee in Quebec City, Canada, 2 - 10 July, 2008.
