Chinese communities have settled in George Town from the very first year it was established. Successive waves of Chinese immigration to Penang eventually made Chinese the predominant ethnic group in the city. Various Chinese language groups have carved out different quarters in George Town, based on their period of migration.
In this tour, we get to know the history of the Chinese people that came to settle in George Town. Our tour takes us to some of their most magnificent and beautiful heritage sites, namely the temples they erected to venerate and worship their ancesters and their patron deities. The tour takes a one-way route beginning at the
Kuan Im Teng and ends at the
Sun Yat Sen Museum. Sights visited include
Pinang Peranakan Museum (fee),
Chung Keng Kwee Ancestral Temple,
Chong San Wooi Koon,
Cantonese Tua Pek Kong Temple,
Ng Kongsi,
Nin Yong Temple,
Teochew Ancestral Temple,
Yap Temple,
Hock Teik Cheng Sin Temple, Cheah Kongsi, Khoo Kongsi (fee) and Sun Yat Sen Museum (fee).

Start time: according to your convenience, morning is best
Rate: RM300 for groups of one to six persons, and thereafter RM50 per person up to maximum 15 persons.
