The Little House on Thale Luang (GPS: 7.76101, 100.18048) is a rustic shed built on the surface of Thale Luang, one of the components of Great Songkhla Lake. It is located in close proximity to Thanon Chaloem Phra Kiat 80 Phansa, the elevated highway and bridge that separates Thale Luang from Thale Noi. Technically, the hut is on Thale Luang, but is reached from Thale Noi.
At time of writing, I am still speculating over the purpose of this little house. Some websites describe it as a shed used by farmers. Another website speculate that it could be the timber palace of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, the Crown Princess of Thailand (https://www.thephuketnews.com/day-dawns-on-thale-noi-24455.php).
The Little House on the Thale Luang is very photogenic, particularly when seen at dusk. To take these shots, I used a long exposure to blur up the surface of the lake, so that it looks like a smooth sheet.
Getting there
The Little House on the Lake is visible from the lay-by along Thanon Chaloem Phra Kiat 80 Phansa. It would be difficult to reach the house itself on foot, unless it is low tide. Otherwise you can ask your boatman to take you right up to it.
