MacPherson Road, SingaporeMacPherson Road, Singapore

MacPherson Road is one of the major roads in Singapore. It connects Jalan Toa Payoh, at the junction with Serangoon Road, Bendemeer Road and the Pan Island Expressway in the west, with Airport Road, at the intersection with Paya Lebar Road and Upper Paya Lebar Road, in the east.

MacPherson Road separates Toa Payoh planning area on its north side from Geylang planning area on the south side. The road was originally called Jalan Klapa, which was renamed after China War (1841) veteran, Lieutenant Colonel Ronald MacPherson (1817-69). Today, there is another Jalan Klapa which refers to a minor road in Kampong Glam.
