Hoot Kiam Road, SingaporeHoot Kiam Road, Singapore

Hoot Kiam Road is a one-way road in Singapore. It separates River Valley from Tanglin. The road connects Zion Road, at the intersection with River Valley Road, in the south, to Paterson Hill, at the intersection of Grange Road, in the north. Hoot Kiam Road pairs with Irwell Road, which is another one-way road but in the opposite direction.

Hoot Kiam Road was named after Song Hoot Kiam, a 19th century personality who worked for the P.O. Company. His son Sir Song Ong Siang1 authored the book One Hundred Years' History of the Chinese in Singapore.2 Hoot Kiam Road still has rows of two-storey townhouses with a garden in the front.
