Hong Chuan Buddhist Institute is an institution established to propagate the knowledge in Buddhism and also to cultivate a Buddhism lifestyle. It is located along York Road, opposite Union High School. The institute conducts ceremonies such as weddings in the Buddhist tradition.

The most distinctive feature of the institute is its seven-storey pagoda in the compound. It is similar in appearance to the pagoda at the Penang Buddhist Association.

Getting there

Rapid Penang Buses No. 304 passes through Scotland Road. Walk from bus stop at Scotland Road to the institute at York Road.
